Consistency makes all the difference, in the gym, with our nutrition, in our relationships, friendships, you name it. Consistency is the key to being successful. It’s not even about doing something well. Shoot, the only way to get GOOD at something is to do it poorly and fight to be a little better every time you do it. When I was training in karate, my Sensei used to end every class by making us repeat after him “Good, Better, Best. Never let it rest. Until your good gets better, and your better gets best.”

Coaching CrossFit and working with people is messy… but I love that it’s messy and that none of us are perfect. I love that no matter where we come from, what our background is, our age, gender, race, sexual orientation, or any piece of the complex puzzle that makes us “Us” … a burpee is a burpee. A barbell is a barbell. And in this space, we are ALL equal.

Here’s to consistency, here’s to adventures and risks taken, here’s to less judgment and more fitness, and more than anything….here is to YOU, as a member of our community or someone wondering what this whole CrossFit thing is all about.

May this place be a place where we grow together and face the hardest parts of that journey…together.

Always working on the good until the good gets better and the better gets best.

Coach Carla

  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer (CF-L1)
  • Judges Course 2015 – 2024
  • Mobility Certificate
  • Weightlifting Certificate (Coach Burgener)

Carla came to CrossFit through a back door – volunteering for the Media Team at the 2012 NorthWest Regionals. While working out at a gym that said they were ‘just like CrossFit’, she learned after watching that NW regional competition – not so much. She started at Rainier CrossFit and then got the whole family involved. She has had the honor to volunteer at the NW and West Regionals and the CrossFit Games, beginning in 2012 – 2019, with CF Media, specifically the Photography Team. Coaching has been a gift to help others discover the athlete inside everyone.

Coach Jess

  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer (CF-L1)
  • Judges Course Certificate 2018-2022
“I’ve been in the Air Force for over 26 years. For the last 18 years, I have been a traditional reservist, usually doing the “One weekend a month, two weeks a year” thing. Before starting CrossFit, I had an extremely difficult time passing my fitness tests or even getting into my uniforms. Now that I’ve been going to CFFW for 6+ years, I don’t even think twice about my fitness tests…they are barely equivalent to a CrossFit warmup! It has also helped my confidence and actually helped improve my leadership skills.”

Coach Nik

  • Judges Course 2022 Certificate

Coach Lynda

  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer (CF-OL1)
  • Judges Course 2019 & 2024 Certificate

“I’ve played some sort of sport all my life.  I found the YMCA at 30 and started focusing on getting healthier.  I started coaching CrossFit as a Kids CF coach in 2010.  The YMCA I was working at became a CrossFit affiliate for a few years.  I found that through coaching, I wanted to inspire people, the way my coaches inspired me.  A lot of my learning and experience came from failing and wanting to succeed.   My coaches gave me the tools, the drive, and the push I needed.  I want everyone to see the athlete inside them.”

Coach John

  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer (CF-L1)
  • Judges Course 2024 Certificate

John will tell you he got guilted into starting CrossFit in 2014 – because his family kept encouraging him to ‘come to the gym with us’ – but was convinced when he read the data and brilliance of the CrossFit methodology. An avid hiker and mountain climber through most of his adult life – starting Crossfit at 64 was a surprise, especially to him.

Coach Jeremy

  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer (CF-L1)
  • Judges Course 2015 – 2024

I started CrossFit around 2016. I love CrossFit and all things fitness related.  I saw it as a great opportunity to give back to a community that I received so much from. I’m very tenacious and I don’t give up easily.  Helping others to stick with it is the best thing a coach can do. CrossFit for me is  Community and competition
